About Corbett National Park
Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park in India and was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park to protect the endangered Bengal Tigar. It was named after Jim Corbett who played a key role in its establishment. Corbett has been a haunt for tourists and wildlife lovers for a long time and offers an opportunity to see splendid landscape and the diverse wildlife. It covers 520 km area of hills (elevation ranges from 1,300 to 4,000 feet), riverine belts, marshy depressions, grasslands and a large lake. Today it is an ecotourism destination which contains 488 different species of plant, 50 species of mammals, 580 birds’ species and 25 reptile species.

The climate is rainy from July to September. In the cold season, the nights are chilly and perfect for bonfires while in day time it is bright and sunny where you can soak up the winter sun.

While the park is famous for its plentiful tigers, you can also catch the glimpses of leopard, elephants, buffalo, crocodiles, pythons, bears and several different kinds of monkeys.
